Refined Rustic- Wedding Trend 2014

Refined Rustic Weddings 2014

Another great trend for 2012 is "Refined Rustic".  Mason jars and lanterns might take a back seat to this chic new trend for the bride who loves the outdoors.  Branches, moss and lush greenery combined with succulents will take the scene on top of rich wood toned tables and chairs.  Sophisticated and stylish, Brides who love this trend will be inspired with natural, earth-tone colors like rust, taupe and sage.  Floral crowns and simple jewelry will accent the lace and floral bridal gown styles.  Planning a woodland wedding?  Share your thoughts below.

Grecian Weddings

Grecian Weddings

To purify themselves, Ancient Greek women would bath in a river or fountain that was considered sacred to the goddess of wedlock.  Now a days, both the hands and feet are washed to insure purity.

Greek weddings usually take place in the morning, most commonly after morning liturgy (public worship), because the bride and groom fast before the ceremony.  The Betrothal (exchanging of rings) and the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony (crowning) are the two most important parts of an Eastern Orthodox Wedding.  The crowns may be a wreath of flowers or an actual crown made of gold with red velvet and jewels.

Bread is dipped into wine and given to the bride and groom in ancient Greek tradition.  Brides in Greece also believe that sugar tucked into their wedding gloves will sweeten their marriage.

We can look for stunning shades of blues and whites to encompass the Grecian theme.  From midnight blue to turquoise to pale blue we can anticipate shades that will be accented with golds and marble tones when it comes to the silverware, stationary, cakes and jewelry.

Visioning many beautiful beach weddings to take a new twist in 2014.

~M

For the love of gray...

Gray... that fabulous color between black and white.  Great as an accent color or in the forefront.   From sharp gray suits to soft gray bridesmaids dresses the color has a warmth all its own.  Platinum diamond rings and chandeliers sparkle like no other as stationary details and chevron prints have an appealing affect.
 Shades of Grey

Whether you choose to use soft gray or sparkly silver make sure to use it with the
appropriate blend of other colors to not drown out your beautiful day.  Custom
white floral bouquets with a touch of dusty miller encompass just the right
amount to off set the tone.

Pantone Color Trend 2014 is Paloma. An awesome grey tone that is not
quite a soft gray nor a charcoal as well.   Some colors come and go but classic
gray never goes out of style.  Sometimes less is more...
but with shades of gray it's always more.

Wedding Wishes,
~M
