Tuesday Tips, Tricks & Tidbits

Today's Tips:  How to pick out the perfect bridesmaids dresses

1)  Be mindful of each brides skin tones.  Try to pick a hue that compliments them all equally or let them each choose a different tone of the same color.

2) Also be aware of each of there sizes.  Perhaps a strapless isn't the best choice for all.  Pick a color and let them pick their own style that compliments their own body.  We don't need any fashion flaws on your big day.  All eyes on the BRIDE!!

3) Try to find a dress that fits everyone's budget.  Since bridesmaids are required to buy there own wedding day attire if they don't blow all their money on a dress they will have additional funds to spend in other areas... like your bachelorette party.

4) Be careful with trending styles.  Why it may be perfect for the right now, make sure it will look perfect in 25 years in your photos.  Same thing goes for the bold colors.  Make sure you are ready for them to last a lifetime.

5) Consider the groomsmen.  Why, you ask?  Because your going to want them to match or at least coordinate.  Be mindful of the colors combinations that the tuxedos and suits come in to insure the perfect bridal party.

6) Think about the flowers.   While a talented florist can do their magic with floral paint... make sure you know which flowers you love and absolutely must have before you pick a dress that will not compliment your dream bouquets.

7) Bring your wedding gown (or at least a picture of it) with you to select the girls dresses.  You want to make sure that the formality of the wedding is pulled through with everyone's attire.

Remember to have fun with your bridesmaids, listen to everyone's opinion and remind them that you are the bride and what you say goes.

Indian Fusion Wedding- Lindsay & Raj- 11-23-13

Nestled in Palm Harbor, Fl is this remarkable location,  Innisbrook Golf & Spa Resort will take your breath away.    It certainly captivated Lindsay's heart just like Raj did.  Imagine meeting your soul mate 11 years earlier at the University of Miami and fate knowingly reconnected you at University of South Florida in 2011.  Sounds like a movie right?!   Check out these fantastic images captured by Stephanie A. Smith Photography.

Orchids, roses and dahlias created a powerful effect with the floral designs by Events in Bloom.    The bold purples and pinks popped off the grey suits, champagne & purple bridesmaids dresses and the bride's stunning ivory lace by Allure Bridal.

Talk about a spectacular reception!!  Custom Linens provided bold orange organza overlays and fuchsia runners down each table.    Lantern centerpieces accented with bright orange candles, mirrors and flower blossoms.  Guest received favors of tea tins in beautifully decorated organza bags.  Guests were entertained from the very beginning with a bride and groom trivia game at their seat and a Newlywed Game right before dinner.

Their sweetheart table was highlighted with this stellar backdrop of fresh flowers and lush linens.  Candles, dahlias and the brides bouquet was just the right touch for their special spot.  Custom table numbers, invitations and the ceremony programs were all created by the talented bride.

Absolutely no one left this wedding hungry.  Between the American & Indian double buffet, the cupcake tower, the candy bar and the 5 layer wedding cake guests taste buds were completely satisfied.

Bridal Show Benefits- How attending can save you hundreds!! $$

Want to find out how a bridal show can save you hundreds for your big day?  Check out these money saving benefits from attending a bridal show.

1) Gas $-  Think it is safe to say you can save at least $20.00 or more on gas by attending a bridal show.  Think about it.. you could drive around and visit 3 different florist, 4 different bakers and 5 DJ's or you can visit them all at one show and then set up appointments with your favorites.

2) Promo's!!  Most vendors at the bridal show are offering exclusive deals to grab your attention... so scoop them up!  Special offers generally run between $50.00-$300.00 off of services.  Score!

3)  Prizes... Who doesn't love prizes.  Gift certificates off services, gift cards to restaurants and stores, bride and groom tumblers, jewelry, 3 day-2 night stays at hotels... and much, much more!  $$ Most commonly prizes value at $50.00 and up.  One show I was at gave away a Grand Prize Combined Valued at $6,025.00.  (( AMAZING ))

4) Free Samples-  Cake samples for your sweet tooth, food tasting, and champagne... No need to eat lunch before you go.   Don't forget about your "goody/swag" bag you get at the door... those bags are also stuffed with additional offers, make up samples, fragrance samples and more.   $5.00- $75.00 savings.

5) Sign ups!!   Make sure before you go you print off address labels with your name, address, phone number and wedding email. Not only will this little trick save you time when filling out all the forms and vendor connections.  Vendors will take all this information and send you additional offers, promos and advice.  Don't ignore these emails... they may be offering you a savings bigger then ever before!!   Average email savings $100.00 or more.

Not only can can bridal shows save you lots of money for your big day it can also be a fun experience with your fiance, mom and/or bridesmaids.  Enjoy a glass of champagne, watch the fashion show and make some connections with some fantastic vendors.

Nautical Boca Grande Florida Wedding- ((M & S- 1-18-14))

Gorgeous right??  Who wouldn't want to get married in sunny Florida at this adorable Catholic church in Boca Grande?  This past Saturday I was giving a wonderful opportunity to work with Yvette Price Events on this nautical inspired destination wedding.

These doors were stunning at the Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church.

Loved the ceiling!!

Outside the church it was super special to the Bride and Groom to get a group shot of all their guests.

The girls looked ravishing in their teal dresses and navy shawl.   The gentlemen were dapper in their grey suits with a navy and teal tie.

The bridesmaids made these precious signs for the Bride & Groom.

Guests enjoyed lawn games, appetizers and beverages out on the lawn at the Gasparilla Inn. Custom corn hole game was made special for the wedding day.  A super sweet keepsake for afterwards.

Custom canvas tote bags were available for the guests.

The guest book was the large blue K which looked amazing at the end of the night with all the well wishes in silver, white and gold ink.

The table numbers and escort cards where created based on the images of the marathon number tags from all the races they have run.

Port Charlotte Florist did an amazing job with the florals.   Hydrangeas, stock, delphinium, lisianthus and curly will adorned the bubble bowls on each table.

This delightful wedding weekend was the epitome of Boca Grande perfection.  All the details of this were creatively thought out and executed by Yvette Price Events.  Please enjoy Yvette's bio below and click here for more information on Yvette Price Events.

I have a fire for life!  I’m Cuban. It’s just in my blood.
My passions fuel me to produce fabulous events that families cherish for a lifetime.  I love to travel.  I love design, flowers, the celebrations of life and great food to go along with them!  A huge collection of cookbooks and food magazines lends a hand whenever I’m in the kitchen.
I love my home and treasure the time I get to spend with family.  Their hard work and love has encouraged me  through thick and thin and helped me fight a triumphant battle against ovarian cancer.  I take pride in my strength and bring that to every celebration I craft.  No detail is left untouched.
I love love.  My relationships with my clients and my family are what make me tick.  I simply adore my husband, Glenn, and feel so blessed that God gave me such a generous man to spend the rest of my life with.   With this fervor for living, I’d say I’m a passionate person.  My passion fuels everything I do and is the core of my event planning.
I’ve hop scotched across the country, from Florida to Wyoming and back again, cultivating strong experience to help create a brilliant day for you and your fiancĂ©.   I look  forward to learning more about what excites you and can’t wait to help bring  your big day vision to life!
