Refined Rustic- Wedding Trend 2014

Another great trend for 2012 is "Refined Rustic".  Mason jars and lanterns might take a back seat to this chic new trend for the bride who loves the outdoors.  Branches, moss and lush greenery combined with succulents will take the scene on top of rich wood toned tables and chairs.  Sophisticated and stylish, Brides who love this trend will be inspired with natural, earth-tone colors like rust, taupe and sage.  Floral crowns and simple jewelry will accent the lace and floral bridal gown styles.  Planning a woodland wedding?  Share your thoughts below.

Pop Culture Wedding

Are you a modern bride who loves bold designs, geometric shapes and bright colors?  Pop culture weddings are on trend for 2014.    The fashion will be hot with lots of black and white with bold pops of color, statement jewelry and sassy heels.    Invites will be stunning with modern lettering and clean lines.  

Bright yellows, striking neon and loud pinks will accent basic table settings.  Creative cuisine along with clever cocktails will astonish guests.  Marryoke, which is miming to karaoke is trending big.  Technology charging stations, insta-upload photo booths and wedding-party apps will keep your wedding day in the spotlight long after its over.

Super Cute PRINCESS Party!!

Completely aware that this is a 'wedding' blog, however I do many events throughout the year and this one is especially dear to my heart.  My sweet daughter Brianna turned 3 and we hosted a super cute Princess Party for her this past Sunday.   

I created custom invitations using glittery card stock and sent them out in shimmery light purple envelopes.   We snacked on fresh baked sandwiches (thanks, mom!), veggies and chips and indulged in the sweets.  I contacted our local cake baker- Cake Concepts and had them do their magic and the made the most precious princess cake and cupcakes to match. 

Hand dipped chocolate pretzel rods dipped in sprinkles, chocolate drizzled popcorn, strawberry wafers and pink lemonade marshmallows rounded out the yummy treats.

As for the decor, I was able to do that rather inexpensively.  After Christmas sales allowed me to find the above wall mount princess items in the clearance area.  The backdrop for the sweet treats was created out of plastic table cloths, clearance purple Christmas garland and shades of silver, pink and purple ornaments.

The silverware was bedazzled with diamond bling and wrapped individually for each guest in a hot pink napkin and wrapped in cute ribbon.  Drink dispensers held pink lemonade and sweet tea. 

We rented a bounce house for the kids to play in.  (There was 15 kids!) 

Needless to say I highly recommend that if you have it in your party budget.  

Thankfully no one was diabetic!  :) 

I created tissue paper pom balls out of glitter tissue paper, Styrofoam balls and straight pins.  The table cloth and chair sashes gave a fun punch to the dining room table.  I hope you enjoyed these photos as much as we all enjoyed the party.

A & C Wedding 4-27-13

With a refreshing color combination of teal and coral with pops of hot pink this beautiful Boca Grande wedding took place at Boca Bay Pass Club on April 27, 2013.   

The bridesmaids found this vintage two seater bike and attached a colorful display of balloons that matched a custom painting to match. 

Peonies, roses and orchids added just the right amount of color.

Floating candle & flower centerpieces sat inside a bed of river rock in a custom wooden box created by the bride's uncle.

The guests all signed a balloon.
